Dr. Ikram is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He completed his medical training from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ikram completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery from Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. While completing his residency he received an award for his paper on Deep Vein Thrombosis treatment. Dr. Ikram practiced General Orthopedic Surgery in Jackson, Michigan where he served as Chief of Surgery from 2001-2012.
Dr. Ali Ashraf is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder arthroplasty, and treatment of general orthopedic injuries. He was raised in Garland, Texas and attended North Garland High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a B.S in Biology. Dr. Ashraf attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. After medical school, he spent a year at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota doing research in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Ashraf went back to Texas Tech for his orthopedic surgery residency. During residency he served as a chief resident. Following residency, he attended the Lenox Hill Hospital orthopedic sports medicine fellowship. There, he learned the latest in minimally invasive arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle. He also had the opportunity to participate in the evaluation of athletes in the NFL Combine, as well as be involved in the care of professional athletes with the New York Jets and the New York Islanders.
Dr. Smith is a former rescue swimmer with the US Coast Guard. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with Honors and then matriculated to Texas Tech school of Medicine. He completed His Emergency Medicine residency at Texas Tech in El Paso where he was awarded the chief resident award. He was Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and for ten years served as an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at Texas Tech. He also held positions as a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Medical Director for Thomason Hospital a Level 1 Trauma Center. From 2000-2010 he was the Chief of the Emergency Department for El Paso Specialty Hospital. Dr. Smith moved to the DFW approximately 10 years ago and has been practicing with focus on Occupation Medicine
Dr. Pineda is a Board Certified general surgeon with advanced skills in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He attended University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and then continued onto the University of Arizona to complete his medical degree in general surgery. He was elected Chief Surgical Resident. Dr. Pineda is skilled at performing a wide variety of surgical procedures including advanced laparoscopic surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, colon resection, small bowel surgery, and many types of biopsies
Dr. Ogunro is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery. Practicing for over 15 years in Dallas, Texas, She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Montefiore Medical Center. She then went on to complete her Fellowship in hand and upper extremity microvascular surgery.
Dr. Ogunro has authored, co-authored and presented multiple research publications to include Avulsion Injuries of the Nail Bed Do Not Need Nail Bed Graft, Arthroscopic ‘filling’ of Hills Sachs Lesions, and Current Indications and Outcomes of Total Wrist Arthroplasty.
Scott C. Kutz, MD is a board certified neurosurgeon. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his surgical internship and neurosurgical residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and a stereotactic and functional neurosurgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Kutz has been a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons since 2011 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2010. He is a member of several associations, including the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Benjamin H Kim, MD, is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Board eligible in Pain Management. Dr. Kim graduated from UT San Antonio Medical School and then attended residency at UT Southwestern with an emphasis on pain management. He then completed his fellowship in liver transplant at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Kim has over 22 years of experience in various procedures such as lumbar ESI facet injections, spinal cord stimulators (cervical & lumbar), pain pumps, intrathecal pain pumps and endoscopic laser procedures.
Dr. Payam Rafat grew up locally in our area in North Texas and completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Texas. He completed his podiatric medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and then completed five years of residency training.
He then entered into private practice and became an integral member of the teaching faculty of a podiatric surgical residency program and subsequently became the onsite podiatric director training numerous podiatric surgical residents for over a decade.
He has years of clinical experience providing podiatric services at the Yonkers Community Health Center, an affiliate of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center.
With over 20 years of wound care experience, Dr. Rafat has a special interest in wound care and limb salvage and has served as a member of the Wound Care Panel at the Beale Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Center in Mount Vernon New York.
Dr Rafat is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine with Certificate of Added
Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care, an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, and is Board Certified in the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and in Diabetic Footwear. He is certified in Clinical Hyperbaric Medicine, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy, and is a board-certified Pedorthist, and a board-certified Orthotic Fitter.
Our physicians are trained in occupational medicine and injury care. Our office is equipped to diagnose and treat work-related injuries. We currently treat federal and state workers compensation claims and are current with their regulations for workforce health and safety, including OSHA and DOT.
